In this blog, we wanted to highlight some attractions and destinations in the Branson, Missouri area that offer similar accessibility to handicapped individuals.
This list contains attractions in which you can actually participate in the activities. Not simply enter the facilities.
Also, this list may not contain every accessible attraction in Branson, Missouri so be sure to contact the facility if you do not see it on this list to check if they can accommodate you or if they have made changes since this article to do so.
Accessible attractions in Branson
Branson’s Wild World –
There is a zoo, aquarium, and blacklight minigolf at Branson’s Wild World.
The zoo and aquarium are all ground level and accessible for wheelchairs. Unfortunately, the minigolf has steps and other obstacles that make it unable to traverse with a chair.
The Butterfly Palace –
The Butterfly Palace does have two floors but there is a large ramp for wheelchair users to reach the second floor to see all of the wonderful exhibits and the large butterfly habitat.
Hollywood Wax Museum, Hannah’s Maze of Mirrors, Castle of Chaos, and Shoot for the Stars Mini Golf –
These four attractions are all managed by the same group and are in the same general area. At the wax museum and maze of mirrors, nearly everything is ground level. They both do have a second floor but a wheelchair-accessible elevator can get you to that second level.
The minigolf course is easily navigated with a wheelchair. There are a couple of areas that have steps, but there are areas the wheelchairs can avoid the steps.
At the Castle of Chaos, if you or an accompanant can get you from the wheelchair into the ride, there should be no issue. If you cannot get into the ride, there is a spot in which you can pull up alongside it and an attendant will provide you a gun and glasses so you can play the on-screen game.
Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum –
Ripley’s museum does have two floors, but there is an elevator to get you up and down.
Silver Dollar City –
Silver Dollar City encourages park guests to start their day at Guest Relations located at the entrance of the park. There, a host will provide detailed information regarding rider requirements, accessibility entrances, service animals, and more. This host will help direct you to the rides and activities in which you can participate safely.
All theaters and games in the park have accessible entrances.
They even allow guests who have medications that must remain cool and/or extra oxygen bottles to leave the items at a first aid station.
Titanic Museum –
The Titanic Museum has a handicap accessible entrance and those in wheelchairs should have no problem navigating the museum.
The Track Family Fun Parks –
This attraction has four separate areas called tracks.
As long as you have someone to help you out of your chair and into a go-kart, park attendants say everything is easy to get to on Track 3.
In fact, a manager there said to ask for a supervisor or manager once you arrive so they can pull the kart around closer for you.
The wheelchair accessible entrance on Track 3 is around the back.
White Water –
Similar to Silver Dollar City, you can start off at Guest Relations at White Water for directions to accessible areas. You can also leave your medications and oxygen bottles at their first aid station.
White Water has aquatics wheelchairs for guests to enter the Surf’s Up Wave Pool and Aloha River at Hula Hula Bay.
Trained service animals as currently defined under the ADA, are welcome at White Water as long as they remain on a leash or harness.
